Product Specific Information
- Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with the primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
- Suggested positive controls: lung, skin, colon, or breast carcinoma tissues.
Target Information
Cytokeratin 8 is a member of the type II keratin family located on chromosome 12. Type I and II keratins form intermediate filaments in epithelial cells. Cytokeratin 8 typically pairs with keratin 18 to form filaments in simple epithelial cells. It contributes to structural integrity, signal transduction, and cellular differentiation. Mutations in this gene are associated with cryptogenic cirrhosis.
