Description:
The eBioGoH3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and human CD49f (Integrin alpha 6), also known as very late activation antigen 6 (VLA-6 alpha chain) and platelet gpIc. CD49f is a 120 kDa transmembrane protein that associates with CD29 (integrin beta 1) to form the VLA-6 complex, and with CD104 (integrin beta 4) to form the α6β4 complex. It is expressed primarily on T cells, monocytes, platelets, epithelial, and endothelial cells, and has also been found on germinal center B cells.
The eBioGoH3 antibody cross-reacts with integrin alpha 6 on human, mouse, and bovine cells, and can block binding of integrin alpha 6 to laminin.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended ≤0.125 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimize titration for best performance.

Integrins are cell-surface proteins composed of alpha and beta chains that mediate cell adhesion and signaling. Alpha 6 may combine with beta 4 (forming TSP180) or beta 1 (forming VLA-6). These complexes regulate cell adhesion, cytoskeletal organization, and signaling linked to proliferation and survival.
CD49f is predominantly expressed in epithelial cells and plays a structural role in hemidesmosomes. Integrins connect the extracellular matrix (ECM) with intracellular cytoskeletal proteins and integrate ECM interactions with growth factor signaling. Over 18 alpha and 8 beta subunits exist in mammals, with multiple isoforms and splice variants.
