Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of MARCKS only when phosphorylated at Serine 159.
Target Information
MARCKS is a substrate for protein kinase C. It is localized to the plasma membrane and functions as an actin filament crosslinking protein. Phosphorylation by protein kinase C or binding to calcium-calmodulin inhibits its association with actin and the plasma membrane, leading to its cytoplasmic localization. MARCKS is implicated in cell motility, phagocytosis, membrane trafficking, and mitogenesis.
