Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of nNOS only when phosphorylated at Serine 852.
Target Information
Nitric oxide synthase (NOS) activity requires homodimerization and three cosubstrates (L-arginine, NADPH, and O₂), along with five cofactors or prosthetic groups (FAD, FMN, calmodulin, tetrahydrobiopterin, and heme).
Distinct NOS isoforms are encoded by three separate genes:
- NOS1 (ncNOS): Ca²⁺/CaM-dependent, primarily neuronal.
- NOS3 (ecNOS): Ca²⁺/CaM-dependent, primarily endothelial.
