Product Specific Information
The 6OMP31 monoclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat CD19. CD19 is a transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, expressed by B cells throughout development except on plasma cells and follicular dendritic cells. It acts as a B cell co-receptor, forming complexes with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II, and plays a key role in B cell activation and proliferation.
CD19 deficiency leads to impaired humoral immunity, while mutations are linked to immunodeficiency syndromes. CD19 is expressed on most B cell tumors, including acute lymphoblastic leukemia and B cell lymphomas. CD19 antibodies are under investigation for therapeutic use in lymphoma, leukemia, and autoimmune disorders.
Applications Reported: Western blotting, immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin-embedded sections.
Applications Tested: Effective at ≤1 µg/mL for IHC (P) and IHC (F) with appropriate antigen retrieval. Optimal titration recommended.
Target Information
CD19, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, has two Ig-like domains and is expressed on all peripheral B cells. It may also appear on myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 acts as a signal-amplifying co-receptor for the B cell receptor (BCR), regulating B cell proliferation and differentiation. Mutations cause hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
