Product Specific Information
The MB19-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by B cells at all developmental stages except plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. Together with CD21, CD81, and MHC class II, CD19 forms a multimolecular complex associated with the BCR, inducing tyrosine phosphorylation and B cell proliferation. Staining with MB19-1 is typically dimmer than that of clone 6D5.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤1 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells and may also appear on myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 serves as a key regulator of B cell proliferation, both normal and malignant, and is expressed in all B cell precursor leukemias. It functions as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the BCR and can signal independently. Mutations lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression causes B cell hyperactivity.
