Product Specific Information

The HIB19 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by B cells during all developmental stages except terminally differentiated plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. CD19 forms a multimolecular complex with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II, associating with the BCR to mediate signaling, tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation.
The SJ25C1 and HIB19 antibodies recognize overlapping epitopes.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended ≤1 µg/test (in 100 µL final volume). Cell numbers may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test; titration recommended for optimal performance.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD19, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains, is expressed on all peripheral B cells and certain myeloid leukemia cells. It serves as a key functional regulator of B cell proliferation and differentiation, acting as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR).
Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression may cause B cell hyperactivity.
