This antibody detects endogenous levels of MYPT1 only when phosphorylated at Ser507.
Target Information
Myosin phosphatase target subunit 1 (MYPT1), also known as the myosin-binding subunit of myosin phosphatase, is a regulatory subunit that controls actin–myosin interactions downstream of Rho GTPase signaling. RhoA-GTP activates Rho-kinase, which phosphorylates and inactivates MYPT1, leading to increased myosin light chain (MLC) phosphorylation and smooth muscle contraction. Overexpression of RhoA or its active form increases MBS and MLC phosphorylation. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms exist for this gene.
