Antibody detects endogenous levels of MER/TYRO3 only when phosphorylated at Tyr753/Tyr685.
Target Information
MERTK (cMER) is a tyrosine kinase proto-oncogene involved in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) phagocytosis pathway, which is implicated in human retinal disease. It regulates cell survival, migration, differentiation, and efferocytosis. Ligand binding induces autophosphorylation, creating docking sites for signaling molecules such as GRB2 or PLCG2, leading to phosphorylation of MAPK1, MAPK2, FAK/PTK2, or RAC1. MERTK signaling contributes to macrophage clearance of apoptotic cells, platelet aggregation, cytoskeleton reorganization, and inhibition of Toll-like receptor-mediated innate immune response through STAT1 activation and SOCS1/3 induction.
