이 유전자는 허혈성 또는 경색된 심근의 혈류 회복 시 발생하는 재관류 부정맥 생성에 관여할 수 있습니다.
이전에는 AGTR1B라는 관련 유전자가 존재한다고 여겨졌으나, 현재 인간에서는 단일 Type 1 receptor gene만 존재하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
