Product Specific Information

The eBioH35-17.2 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD8 beta molecule. The CD8 beta chain associates with the CD8 alpha chain to form the CD8 alpha/beta heterodimer expressed on thymocytes and peripheral cytotoxic alpha beta TCR T cells. CD8 binds to MHC class I and plays a role in T cell development and activation.

    • Test volume: 100 µL
    • Cell range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test
    • Antibody should be titrated for optimal performance

Super Bright 436 is excited with a 405 nm violet laser and emits at 436 nm. Recommended detection using a 450/50 bandpass filter or equivalent. Ensure instrument compatibility with this fluorochrome.

When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information

The CD8B antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes. It mediates efficient cell-cell interactions within the immune system. CD8 acts as a coreceptor with the T-cell receptor to recognize antigens presented by APCs in the context of class I MHC molecules. The functional coreceptor may be a homodimer (two alpha chains) or heterodimer (one alpha, one beta chain). Both chains share homology with immunoglobulin variable light chains. The CD8B gene encodes the beta chain isoforms, with multiple alternatively spliced transcripts producing distinct membrane-associated or secreted isoforms. A pseudogene is also located on chromosome 2.
