Product Specific Information

The eBioSN4 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD9, a 24 kDa tetraspanin family member characterized by four hydrophobic transmembrane domains. CD9 is expressed in platelets, eosinophils, basophils, pre-B cells, activated T cells, and neural cell lines. CD9 expression correlates with malignant phenotypes, including various leukemias.

In platelets, CD9 is associated with integrin αIIb/βIII and plays a role in platelet aggregation. It also mediates pre-B cell aggregation, adhesion, and migration of Schwann cells. CD9 provides co-stimulatory signals for T cells independently of CD28.

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human platelets at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).

Super Bright 436 is excited by the violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 436 nm. Recommended filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent. Ensure instrument compatibility.

When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information

CD9 antigen is a glycoprotein expressed on developing B lymphocytes, platelets, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils, stimulated T lymphocytes, neurons, and glial cells. It belongs to the tetraspanin family and regulates cell activation and aggregation via integrin CD41/CD61 interactions.

CD9 is involved in:

• Cell motility and adhesion
• Osteoclastogenesis and neurite outgrowth
• Myotube formation and sperm-egg fusion
• Suppression of cancer cell motility and metastasis

It plays critical roles in differentiation, signal transduction, and immune cell activation.
