Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. Restore with deionized water or equivalent. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Expiration date is one year from restoration.
Anti-AKT1 antibody detects both unphosphorylated and phosphorylated AKT1. Cross-reactivity with mouse and rat is expected based on sequence identity (85% mouse, 92% rat).
Target Information
AKT1 (PKB alpha) is a serine/threonine kinase regulating cell survival and apoptosis inhibition. Activated by insulin, PI3K, IGF1, and growth factors, AKT1 phosphorylates multiple targets including forkhead transcription factors and caspase-9. The AKT pathway is a major focus in cancer drug discovery.
