Target Information
MAP2K1 (MEK1) kinase is a dual-specificity protein kinase functioning in MAPK cascades, regulating cell growth and differentiation. Activated by phosphorylation at serine 218 and 222 residues by Raf1, MEK1 is involved in stress response, apoptosis, and cytokine-induced proliferation. Mutations in MAP2K1 can lead to cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome.
