Target Information

ZBTB17 is a transcription factor that can act as an activator or repressor depending on its binding partners. It targets negative regulators of cell cycle progression and plays a crucial role in early lymphocyte development by preventing apoptosis in lymphoid precursors. It enables survival in response to IL7 and supports proper lineage commitment.
ZBTB17 binds promoters of adenovirus major late protein and cyclin D1 to activate transcription and is required for early embryonic development during gastrulation.
