Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide receptor and is released into serum as both secreted and cleaved forms. CD14 binds lipopolysaccharides via lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP) and participates in immune recognition and inflammatory responses. Soluble CD14 (sCD14) can differentiate structural variations in lipopolysaccharides and contributes to neutralization of serum endotoxins. Additionally, CD14 binds apoptotic cells and is involved in allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes.
Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform.
Diseases associated with CD14 dysfunction include Mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
