Target Information

ZBTB17 is a transcription factor that can act as an activator or repressor depending on its binding partners. It regulates negative modulators of cell cycle progression and plays a critical role in early lymphocyte development by preventing apoptosis in lymphoid precursors, enabling their survival and lineage commitment in response to IL7. It binds to promoters such as adenovirus major late protein and cyclin D1 to activate transcription. ZBTB17 is also required for early embryonic development during gastrulation.
