Product Specific Information
The eBioSY11B5 monoclonal antibody recognizes human CD157 (Mo5, BST-1). CD157 is a 42–45 kDa GPI-anchored protein with structural and functional similarities to CD38. It is expressed on monocytes, macrophages, and bone marrow stromal cells. CD157 acts as both an enzyme and receptor, involved in NAD⁺ metabolism and Ca²⁺ regulation. Upon ligand binding, CD157 can initiate signal transduction involving phosphorylation of cytoplasmic proteins such as focal adhesion kinase (FAK).
Each product contains:
- 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
- 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Important Notes:
- NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
- Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains instead.
- CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining.
- Add 5 µL of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer per sample before combining with cells.
- For single-color controls: use 5 µL buffer per 100 µL sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

Target Information
Target: Bone marrow stromal cell antigen 1 (BST1)
BST1 is a GPI-anchored molecule that facilitates pre-B cell growth and is also known as ADP-ribosyl cyclase 2 or DAMP-1. It is expressed by the BST1 gene in humans and is upregulated in bone marrow stromal cells from rheumatoid arthritis patients, potentially contributing to B cell abnormalities associated with the disease.
