Product Specific Information
The eBioSY11B5 monoclonal antibody recognizes human CD157 (Mo5, BST-1), a 42–45 kDa GPI-anchored protein structurally and functionally related to CD38. CD157 was initially identified for its expression on monocytes and macrophages and later found to be identical to BST-1 from bone marrow stromal cells. It functions as a pleiotropic ectoenzyme and receptor involved in NAD⁺ metabolism and intracellular Ca²⁺ regulation. Upon ligand binding, CD157 can trigger phosphorylation of cytoplasmic proteins such as focal adhesion kinase (FAK).
Each product includes one vial of NovaFluor conjugate and one vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer.
- Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
- Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry of normal human peripheral blood cells
- Recommended Use: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)
Important Notes:
- NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
- Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assessment.
- CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining.
- Add 5 µL of CellBlox Plus per sample before combining with cells.
- For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample.

Target Information
Bone marrow stromal cell antigen 1 (BST1) is a GPI-anchored molecule facilitating pre-B cell growth. Also known as ADP-ribosyl cyclase 2 and DAMP-1, it is expressed by the BST1 gene in humans. BST1 expression is elevated in bone marrow stromal cells from rheumatoid arthritis patients, potentially contributing to polyclonal B cell abnormalities.
