Product Specific Information

The eBioSY11B5 monoclonal antibody recognizes human CD157 (Mo5, BST-1), a 42–45 kDa GPI-anchored protein similar to CD38. CD157 is expressed on monocytes, macrophages, and bone marrow stromal cells, functioning as both an ectoenzyme and receptor involved in NAD⁺ metabolism and intracellular Ca²⁺ regulation.

Upon ligand binding, CD157 triggers phosphorylation of cytoplasmic proteins such as FAK, though the full signaling mechanism remains under study.

Each product includes:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells (5 µL per test, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assays.

CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) should be added to antibody cocktails before mixing with cells (5 µL per sample). For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL of cell sample.

Target Information

Bone marrow stromal cell antigen 1 (BST1) is a GPI-anchored molecule promoting pre-B cell growth. Also known as ADP-ribosyl cyclase 2 or DAMP-1, BST1 expression is elevated in bone marrow stromal cells from rheumatoid arthritis patients, contributing to B cell abnormalities.
