Product Specific Information
The VI-PL2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD61, also known as integrin beta 3 (GPIIIa).
CD61 is a 90–110 kDa member of the beta integrin family expressed by leukocytes, platelets, endothelial, and smooth muscle cells. It forms non-covalent complexes with alpha integrins CD41 and CD51, resulting in αIIbβ3 (CD41/CD61) and αvβ3 (CD51/CD61) heterodimers. These complexes mediate cellular adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation.
- CD41/CD61 integrin: involved in platelet aggregation; binds fibrinogen, von Willebrand Factor (vWF), and fibronectin.
- CD51/CD61 integrin: binds vitronectin, fibronectin, vWF, and fibrinogen; regulates migration and survival of angiogenic endothelial cells.
This antibody cross-reacts with canine, baboon, rhesus, and cynomolgus monkey species.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry at 5 µL (0.06 µg) per test.
A test = amount of antibody staining cells in 100 µL final volume (typically 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
