Ephrin A1은 ephrin 계열의 단백질로, EPH 관련 수용체와 함께 가장 큰 수용체 단백질 티로신 키나아제 하위군을 형성합니다. 이들은 주로 신경계 및 적혈구 생성 과정의 발달에 관여합니다. 구조와 서열에 따라 ephrin-A 클래스(막에 GPI 연결로 고정됨)와 ephrin-B 클래스(막관통 단백질)로 구분됩니다. Ephrin A1은 EPHA2, EPHA4, EPHA5, EPHA6, EPHA7 수용체와 결합합니다. 두 가지 전사 변이체가 존재하며, 서로 다른 아이소폼을 암호화합니다.
