Target Information
CYR61 is a secreted heparin-binding protein encoded by a growth factor–inducible immediate-early gene that associates with the extracellular matrix and connective tissue. It belongs to the CCN family of angiogenic and vasculogenic regulators, including CTGF and Fisp12.
As an angiogenic inducer, CYR61 binds to integrin αvβ3, stimulating cell adhesion, migration, and DNA synthesis of human vascular endothelial cells. Expression increases during vessel growth, wound healing, and chondrocyte differentiation. It is detected in various tumors, promoting growth and serving as a marker of tumor progression.
