The immunogen is a pair of synthetic peptides corresponding to residues E(18)–V(32) and F(187)–A(200) of mouse Adiponectin.
Target Information
Adiponectin is a protein hormone secreted exclusively by adipocytes that regulates lipid and glucose metabolism.
It plays roles in homeostasis and obesity, with decreased levels associated with insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
In mice, adiponectin improves insulin signaling through activation of AMP kinase and PPAR-alpha, increasing fatty acid transport and oxidation in skeletal muscle, reducing lipid levels, and enhancing insulin sensitivity.
