- MA1-06323 detects cytokeratin 14 in human, rat, canine, and porcine samples.
- Successfully used in Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry.

Target Information
Cytokeratins (CK) are intermediate filaments of epithelial cells, found in both keratinizing (e.g., skin) and non-keratinizing tissues (e.g., mesothelial cells). At least 20 different CKs have been identified.
Most CK family members belong to either type I (acidic polypeptides) or type II (basic polypeptides).
Keratin 14, a type I low molecular weight keratin, pairs with keratin 5 and is characteristic of stratified epithelial cells, aiding in identification of squamous cell carcinomas.
It also serves as a prognostic marker in breast carcinomas.
Each epithelial cell expresses at least one acidic and one basic CK family member.
