Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody R2B-7C3 recognizes Rat IgG2b antibodies and can be used as a second-step reagent in flow cytometry and microscopy.
It does not recognize other rat isotypes nor cross-react with mouse IgG2b or any mouse isotype antibodies.

Applications Reported:

• Immunohistochemical staining of frozen tissue sections
• Immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections
• Immunocytochemistry

Applications Tested:
Tested by IHC on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections stained first with a rat IgG2b anti-human antibody. Recommended concentration ≤ 5 µg/mL.
Careful titration is advised for optimal assay performance.

Filter Recommendation:
Use filters capturing 570 nm emission (e.g., Excitation 545/25, 565LP, Emission 605/70).
Standard Alexa Fluor® 555 or TRITC filters are acceptable.

Target Information

Anti-Rat secondary antibodies are affinity-purified reagents with well-characterized specificity for rat immunoglobulins.
They are useful for detection, sorting, or purification of target molecules.
Secondary antibodies enhance sensitivity through signal amplification, as multiple secondary antibodies can bind to a single primary antibody.
Commonly generated by immunizing the host animal with pooled immunoglobulins from the target species, followed by purification and conjugation to ensure high specificity.
