Product Specific Information
The eBio64CAP17 antibody reacts with human IL-17A and cross-reacts with Rhesus monkey IL-17A. It is a neutralizing antibody with no reactivity to human IL-17F. IL-17A is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine involved in inflammatory responses and is elevated in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.
IL-17A exists as a glycosylated 20–30 kDa homodimer and enhances ICAM-1 expression in fibroblasts while stimulating secretion of IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2. It supports CD34+ progenitor proliferation and neutrophil maturation. IL-17A-producing Th17 cells are regulated by IFN-γ and IL-4. Activated CD4+ T cells also produce IL-17A/F heterodimers with varying potency.
This antibody has been tested for intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of stimulated human peripheral blood cells. Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).

It signals through IL-17R/CDw217 and regulates NF-κB and MAPK pathways, enhancing IL-6 and COX-2 expression and nitric oxide production. IL-17A plays a key role in autoimmune and inflammatory disease mechanisms.
