This antibody reacts with alpha/beta dimer as well as with dissociated beta-subunit.
DR and DP are the isotypes of human MHC Class II molecules expressed on antigen-presenting cells (APC; dendritic cells, B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages).

Target Information

HLA-DRA is one of the HLA class II alpha chain paralogues. This molecule is a heterodimer consisting of alpha and beta chains anchored in the membrane, playing a central role in antigen presentation.
Class II molecules are expressed on APCs (B lymphocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages). The alpha chain (~33–35 kDa) gene contains 5 exons:

• Exon 1: leader peptide
• Exons 2–3: extracellular domains
• Exon 4: transmembrane domain and cytoplasmic tail

DRA has no polymorphisms in the peptide binding region and acts as the sole alpha chain for DRB1, DRB3, DRB4, and DRB5.
