Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with the extracellular class III epitope on CD34, a 110–115 kDa monomeric transmembrane phosphoglycoprotein expressed on hematopoietic progenitor cells and pluripotential stem cells. Expression is gradually lost as progenitor cells differentiate.
The antibody completely blocks binding of class III antibodies BIRMA K3 and 8G12 on the KG1a cell line.

Target Information
CD34 is a highly glycosylated monomeric surface protein (111–115 kDa) found on many stem cell populations. It serves as a stem cell marker and may function as a receptor regulating adhesion, differentiation, and proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells. CD34 expression reflects specific developmental stages and may influence cell adhesion properties.
It may act as an adhesion molecule or scaffold for glycans, mediating interactions with stromal cells and selectins. The intracellular domain is phosphorylated by protein kinase C, suggesting a role in signal transduction.
