Product Specific Information

This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of HLA-G1 antigen.
HLA-G belongs to the MHC Class I molecules (MHC Class Ib; nonclassical) and is expressed on the surface of trophoblast cells.

Target Information

HLA-G belongs to the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues. This class I molecule is a heterodimer consisting of a heavy chain and a light chain (beta-2 microglobulin). The heavy chain is anchored in the membrane. HLA-G is expressed on fetal-derived placental cells.

The heavy chain (~45 kDa) gene contains 8 exons:

  • Exon 1: leader peptide
  • Exons 2–3: α1 and α2 domains (peptide-binding)
  • Exon 4: α3 domain
  • Exon 5: transmembrane region
  • Exon 6: cytoplasmic tail

HLA and MHC antibodies play a significant role in Immunopeptidomics, facilitating the identification and characterization of neoantigens through high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry.
