Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Advantages include:

  • High specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal origin-free formulation
  • Broad immunoreactivity due to the rabbit immune repertoire

Target Information

CD63 (LAMP-3) is a glycoprotein of the tetraspanin family found in late endosomes, lysosomes, and secretory vesicles of various cell types. It also appears on the plasma membrane following cell activation and is widely used as a basophil activation marker.

In mast cells, CD63 exposure occurs without activation. It interacts with integrins, influences phagocytosis and cell migration, and participates in H/K-ATPase trafficking and ROMK1 channel regulation. CD63 also acts as a T-cell costimulation molecule and can serve as a prognostic marker in early carcinomas.

CD63 is expressed on activated platelets and translocates to the plasma membrane after activation. It is present in monocytes, macrophages, and weakly expressed in granulocytes, B, and T cells. CD63 is identical to the melanoma-associated antigen ME491 and the platelet antigen PTLGP40. Dysfunctions are associated with melanoma and Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome.
