This antibody is predicted to react with mouse, rat, non-human primate, and rabbit based on sequence homology.

Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies.

These antibodies recognize multiple epitopes on the target, providing higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. Each lot is produced with a defined mixture of light and heavy chains, ensuring reproducibility and eliminating biological variability typical of polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

ICAM-1 (CD54) is an 85–110 kDa single-chain type 1 integral membrane glycoprotein with five immunoglobulin superfamily repeats, a transmembrane region, and a cytoplasmic domain. It has seven potential N-linked glycosylation sites and shares sequence homology with ICAM-3 (CD50) and ICAM-2 (CD102).

ICAM-1 binds to integrins CD11a/CD18 (LFA-1) and CD11b/CD18 (Mac-1) and serves as a receptor for Rhinovirus. It is expressed by activated endothelial cells and detected on epithelial cells, fibroblasts, chondrocytes, B and T lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and neutrophils. Expression increases upon inflammation and is also observed in some carcinoma and melanoma cells. Soluble ICAM-1 is detectable in plasma and elevated in patients with various inflammatory syndromes.
