Product Specific Information

Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes. After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature. Suggested positive controls include placenta or breast carcinoma.

Target Information

Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family proteins are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix during normal physiological processes such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in pathological conditions including arthritis and metastasis. Most MMPs are secreted as inactive proproteins that are activated by extracellular proteinases. The MMP14 gene encodes a membrane-type MMP (MT-MMP) containing a transmembrane domain, indicating its expression at the cell surface. MMP14 activates MMP2, contributing to tumor invasion processes.
