PGAM5는 serine/threonine 잔기에서 인산화효소 활성을 가지며 MAP3K5 kinase를 탈인산화 및 활성화합니다. Phosphoglycerate mutase 활성은 없으며, 미토콘드리아 역학의 조절자로 작용할 수 있습니다. KEAP1-의존적 유비퀴틴 리가제 복합체의 기질로서 NFE2L2-의존 유전자 발현 억제에 기여합니다. TNF, 활성산소종 및 칼슘 이온포어에 의해 유도되는 programmed necrosis의 중심 매개체 역할을 합니다. [UniProt]
