Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat SCF. Anti-Rat SCF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect rat SCF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required.
This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Rat SCF (500-P202) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of recombinant rat SCF.

Western Blot:
To detect Rat SCF by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL.
Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Rat SCF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Stem cell factor (SCF) is the ligand of the c-Kit oncogene and is expressed by various structural and inflammatory cells in the airways.
Binding of SCF by the c-Kit receptor leads to receptor homodimerization and activation of signaling pathways such as PI-3, PLC-γ, Jak/STAT, and MAP kinase.
SCF expression induces mast cell survival and release of histamine, pro-inflammatory cytokines, and chemokines.
Inhibition of the SCF/c-Kit pathway decreases histamine levels, mast cell and eosinophil infiltration, IL-4 production, and airway hyperresponsiveness, suggesting potential therapeutic applications in inflammatory diseases such as asthma.
At least two isoforms of SCF are known to exist.
