Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They are composed of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies.

Functionally, they recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, providing higher detection sensitivity for low abundance targets. Each lot contains the same defined population of antibody chains, ensuring reproducibility and eliminating biological variability typical of polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

AKT, also known as protein kinase B (PKB) or RAS-alpha, is a serine/threonine kinase involved in metabolism regulation, cell survival, and growth. It is activated by insulin, PI3K, IGF1, and other growth factors. AKT promotes cell survival by inhibiting apoptosis through phosphorylation and inactivation of targets such as forkhead transcription factors and caspase-9. The AKT pathway is a major target in cancer drug discovery.
