Target Information

MAPK3 (ERK1) is a serine/threonine kinase that activates p90, RSK, MSK, ELK1, and Stat3, and is a key component of the MAPK pathway.
ERK1 regulates meiosis, mitosis, and post-mitotic functions, and is activated by various stimuli such as growth factors, cytokines, and viral infections.
It translocates to the nucleus upon activation to phosphorylate nuclear targets.
Alternative splicing variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
