Target Information

ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF)-like proteins (ARLs) are a distinct subgroup of the ARF family of RAS-related GTPases.
The ARL2BP protein binds to ARL2·GTP with high affinity but does not interact with ARL2·GDP, activated ARF, or RHO proteins.
Lack of membrane association upon ARL2 activation suggests functions distinct from ARFs.
ARL2BP is considered the first ARL2-specific effector identified, due to its selective interaction with ARL2·GTP and lack of GTPase-activating activity.
