Target Information

ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF)-like proteins (ARLs) form a distinct subgroup within the ARF family of RAS-related GTPases.
The ARL2BP protein binds ARL2·GTP with high affinity but not ARL2·GDP, activated ARF, or RHO proteins.
Its lack of membrane association upon ARL2 activation suggests a unique function distinct from ARFs.
ARL2BP is recognized as the first ARL2-specific effector identified, interacting with ARL2·GTP but lacking GTPase-activating protein activity.
