Target Information
Caspase 3는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) 패밀리의 구성원으로, 세포자멸사(apoptosis) 수행 단계에서 핵심적인 역할을 합니다. 비활성 전구체 형태로 존재하며, 보존된 아스파르트산 잔기에서 절단되어 활성 효소를 형성합니다. Caspase 3는 Caspase 6, 7, 9를 활성화하고, Caspase 8, 9, 10에 의해 절단됩니다. 또한 Alzheimer’s disease와 관련된 amyloid-beta 4A 전구체 단백질 절단에 관여합니다. 이 유전자의 대체 스플라이싱은 동일한 단백질을 암호화하는 두 가지 전사 변형을 생성합니다.
