Target Information
O6-Methylguanine-DNA Methyltransferase (MGMT) is a key DNA repair protein involved in tumor cell resistance to chemotherapeutic alkylating agents. It protects normal cells from genotoxic and carcinogenic effects of DNA alkylation by removing alkyl groups from the O6 position of guanine. MGMT expression and activity vary depending on tissue type, species, and tumor characteristics.
