Target Information
Neurogenic locus notch homolog protein 2 (NOTCH2) is a highly conserved protein in the Notch signaling pathway.
NOTCH2 is a type 1 transmembrane protein with an extracellular domain containing multiple EGF-like repeats and an intracellular domain composed of various domain types.
It functions as a receptor for membrane-bound ligands Jagged1, Jagged2, and Delta1, regulating cell-fate determination.
Defects in NOTCH2 cause Alagille syndrome type 2 (ALGS2), an autosomal dominant multisystem disorder characterized by hepatic bile duct paucity, cholestasis, and associated cardiac, skeletal, and ophthalmologic abnormalities.
