Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
After reconstitution, store aliquots at -20 °C for higher stability or at 4 °C with an antibacterial agent.
Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.

Target Information

Huntington’s disease (HD) is a neurodegenerative disorder caused by an expansion of a polyglutamine tract in the huntingtin protein.
HAP1 (Huntingtin-associated protein 1) was identified through two-hybrid screening and shows binding correlation with the polyglutamine expansion.
HAP1 interacts with cytoskeletal proteins such as dynactin and pericentriolar autoantigen protein 1, suggesting a role in vesicular trafficking or organelle transport.
It is also involved in huntingtin-enhanced BDNF transport along microtubules. Disruption of this process may lead to neuronal toxicity and loss of neurotrophic support, contributing to disease pathogenesis.
Several alternatively spliced isoforms of HAP1 have been described.
