Product Specific Information

The OKT3 monoclonal antibody reacts with an epitope on the epsilon-subunit within the human CD3 complex. It has potent immunosuppressive properties and is effective in treating renal, heart, and liver allograft rejection. CD3 is expressed by thymocytes and all mature T cells, playing a key role in TCR complex assembly and activation.

• Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test.

Super Bright 600 is a tandem dye excited by the violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 600 nm. When using multiple Super Bright dyes, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific interactions.

Light Sensitivity: Protect from light to avoid photo-induced oxidation.
Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 2–8°C in the dark.

Target Information

The CD3 subunit complex is essential for T-cell receptor (TCR) signal transduction and surface expression. It includes CD3 gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta subunits, all encoded on human chromosome 11. CD3 is expressed on most T lymphocytes and thymocytes but not on B or NK cells. It plays roles in T-cell activation, proliferation, and signal transduction. Defects in CD3 genes are linked to immunodeficiency disorders.
