The UC7-13D5 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse gamma delta TCR complex. Gamma delta TCR is expressed by a small subset of T cells in the thymus, peripheral lymphoid tissues, intestinal epithelium, and epidermis. These cells are suggested to recognize bacterial ligands and some tumor cells in the context of MHC class I-like gene products and play roles in immune regulation and bacterial infection responses.
Applications Reported:
UC7-13D5 is used as a phenotypic marker for gamma delta TCR-expressing T cells in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse thymocytes and splenocytes. Recommended usage ≤ 0.5 µg per test (in 100 µL final volume). Optimal antibody concentration should be titrated for specific assay conditions. Typical cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Target Information
TCR gamma/delta (T-cell receptor gamma/delta) are specialized T cells involved in immune recognition. TCRs discriminate foreign from self-peptides presented by MHC class II molecules, critical for adaptive immunity. Gamma delta T cells are mainly found in epithelial tissues, showing limited TCR diversity and distinct antigen recognition compared to alpha-beta T cells. Subsets of gamma delta T cells exhibit antitumor and immunoregulatory activities.
