Product Specific Information
The B20.1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse T-cell receptor (TCR) V alpha 2 chains, recognizing the majority of the TCR V alpha 2 subfamily in mice carrying the a, b, and c haplotypes. It also cross-reacts with TCR V delta 8 products due to high sequence homology.
Applications Reported:
Flow cytometric analysis and immunoprecipitation.
Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse lymph node cells. Recommended usage ≤ 0.125 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Pre-block Fc receptors for 10 minutes using 0.5 µg of purified anti-mouse CD16/32 (Product #14-0161-85).
Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.
Filtered through 0.2 µm post-manufacturing.
Target Information
T cell receptors (TCRs) enable discrimination between foreign and self-peptides presented by MHC class II molecules, a key mechanism in adaptive immunity.
Recognition of self-peptides is linked to autoimmune diseases, while mutant self-peptides are associated with tumors.
Superantigen engagement of TCRs can cause toxic shock syndrome.
Autoantibodies to V beta segments of TCRs have been found in rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus, potentially modulating TH1-mediated inflammation.
Human T cells mainly express TCR alpha-beta with CD4 or CD8, while gamma-delta T cells, found in epithelia, show less diversity and distinct antigen recognition, contributing to antitumor and immunoregulatory activities.
