Preparation:
Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Resistin. The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and subsequently biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
For detection of human Resistin by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), use at 0.25–1.0 µg/mL. When used with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human Resistin (500-P183G) as the capture antibody, it enables detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of recombinant hResistin.

Western Blot:
To detect Human Resistin by Western Blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Human Resistin is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under both reducing and non-reducing conditions.

Adipose tissue functions as an energy reserve and secretes several physiologically important proteins, including LPL, leptin, Acrp30, perilipin, and resistin.
Resistin, also known as Adipocyte Secreted Factor (ADSF) and FIZZ3, is a cytokine secreted specifically by adipocytes. It has been implicated in type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance.
Studies in obese, diabetic mice have shown elevated serum resistin levels, correlating with antagonistic effects on insulin.
Resistin gene expression is regulated by C/EBP alpha and coactivators CBP and p300, which acetylate histones at the resistin promoter to activate transcription.
PPAR gamma and RXR ligands have been shown to downregulate resistin expression in adipocytes.
