Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Resistin. Anti-Human Resistin-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and subsequently biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human Resistin by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required.
This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human Resistin (500-P183) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human Resistin.

Western Blot:
To detect Human Resistin by Western Blot, use at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL.
With compatible secondary reagents, detection limit for Recombinant Human Resistin is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Adipose tissue serves as an energy reserve and produces various physiologically important proteins such as LPL, leptin, Acrp30, perilipin, and resistin.
Resistin (also known as Adipocyte Secreted Factor, ADSF, and FIZZ3) is a cytokine secreted by adipocytes. Although its function is not fully understood, it plays key paracrine roles and has been implicated in type 2 diabetes.
In obese, diabetic mice, serum resistin levels are elevated and antagonize insulin action. Resistin expression requires C/EBP alpha and is regulated by coactivators CBP and p300 through histone acetylation.
PPAR gamma and RXR ligands have been shown to downregulate resistin expression in adipocytes.
