PA1-073 detects protein interacting with protein kinase C (PICK1) from mouse cells.
It has been successfully used in Western blot, immunocytochemistry, and immunoprecipitation procedures.

By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~52 kDa protein representing PICK1 from AtT20 cell extract.
Immunocytochemical staining of CV1 cells transfected with PICK1 results in a diffuse staining pattern when expressed alone and coclustered when coexpressed with mGluR7.

The PA1-073 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues M(1) F A D L D Y D I E E D K L G I P T(18) of mouse PICK1.
The PA1-073 immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-133) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.

Target Information

PSD-95/DLG/ZO-1 (PDZ) domain-containing proteins play a central role in synaptic membrane protein localization.
PICK1 is a synaptic PDZ domain protein that also contains a coiled-coil and acidic domain.
Studies indicate that PICK1 functions as a targeting and transport protein and has been shown to interact with protein kinase C alpha (PKCα), AMPA-type glutamate receptors, and several other membrane receptors via its PDZ domain.

The interaction of PICK1 with PKCα is highly dependent on kinase activation. PICK1 directs activated PKCα to membrane-anchored GluR2, which, once phosphorylated, is released and transported from the synaptic membrane in a PICK1-dependent manner.
