Target Information
SIRT2 (Sirtuin 2) is a NAD-dependent deacetylase involved in gene silencing, cell cycle regulation, and DNA damage repair. It may function as a tumor suppressor in human gliomas and serve as a molecular marker. Additionally, SIRT2 acts as a redox sensor regulating muscle gene expression in response to nutrient status and exercise. It is phosphorylated during mitosis, particularly in late G2 phase through cytokinesis.
